A Certificate of Appreciation for our University from the Ministry of EU Affairs
On 16 December 2011, at Bahçeşehir University, for the higher education institutions which had the right to get their ECTS and DS Labels as a result of their applications, Certificates of Appreciation for ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), DS (Diploma Supplement) Labels were presented and the Program of the Electronic Project Management System of the National Agency (TURNA) was introduced by the Centre For European Union Education and Youth Programs. Our University was one of the fourteen universities that had the right to get the DS Label in Turkey.
At least two Languages During the opening speeches of the ceremony, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of EU Affairs, Dr. Fatih Hasdemir, introduced TURNA electronic project management system. Speaking about the EU process Dr. Hasdemir said "EU process is not only a process by means of which we can benefit from them, but one by means of which they will also benefit from us." Stressing that those studying at universities must know at least two languages, a member of the Executive Council of the Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Muhittin Şimşek said "It is a cultural change, Higher Education system has also changed. During this process, the contributions of Kocaeli University and its Rector have been great. I express my special thanks to them." Deputy Minister of the Ministry of EU Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hasan Nuri Yaşar said "Our Ministry has developed significant projects. We are proud of giving TURNA project to EU countries free of charge."
Success achieved through hard work During the ceremony, the member of the Executive Council of the Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Muhittin Şimşek presented a certificate of appreciation to our Rector, Prof. Dr. Sezer Ş. Komsuoğlu, for Diploma Supplement Label. Expressing her thanks to our Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe Sevim Gökalp for her contributions regarding the process, our Rector stated success was achieved through hard work by saying "We lost 100% of our physical facilities in the 1999 Earthquake. I feel honored to be able to come to these days. This award is a proof showing what we have done is right."
