Although it is a newly-established faculty, students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of Kocaeli University achieve important national and international successes.
In the competition among the students of the Department of Architecture, held annually by Architectural Education Foundation (MIMED), a senior class student of Kocaeli University Department of Architecture, İbrahim Türkeri, won the success award and a second class student, Saime Gümüştaş, was given a special jury prize.
In addition, one of the students of the Department of Interior Design, Ali Sönmez, who won the second place award at the 3rd National Home Furniture Design Competition 2007 held by Furniture Designers Foundation (MOSDER) has been invited to make a presentation at the International Furniture Design and Interior Decoration Conference "DECO 2008" to be held in Iran.
